Summer Art Adventure Program Art Instructor

July 6 - August 7 
Part-time, seasonal 

The Art League of Long Island’s Summer Art Adventure Program is seeking energetic and child friendly art educators to work with children ages 5-14 in their 5-week summer arts program. Educators must have a personal portfolio demonstrating abilities, experience working with children in a camp/classroom setting, NYS art certified preferred, or experience as an art instructor.

All candidates will be background checked, fingerprinted, and must attend a mandatory CPR/AED training session. Available positions include 5 week, 3 week & Substitute. Please indicate on your cover letter the position you are interested in.

Five week teaching opportunity! Program takes place at the Paumanok Elementary School in Dix Hills.

Summer Art Adventure Program Assistants

The Art League of Long Island is looking for energetic, child friendly "camp style" assistants to work directly with our Summer Art Adventure students. Assistants will help teachers with daily classroom tasks, such as managing student activities, supplies, lunch/recess activities, drop off and pick up, as well as preparing for the weekly art show. Candidates must have personal art experience. This position is a temporary summer position, July 6-August 7th.

Art League of Long Island Pre-College Portfolio Program Instructor
Summer Intensive 2020
July 6, 2020 - July 31, 2020

The Art League of Long Island is looking for a dynamic, experienced art instructor for its 2020 Pre-College Portfolio Program for High School teens. The candidate will be involved in pre-program planning, promotion, curriculum development, open house events and be an advocate for the program.

The instructor will have broad based current knowledge of portfolio requirements at art colleges and universities. The Pre-College program will provide students with a college level experience in studio art that exceeds the limits of regular High School art and design classes. The instructor will plan for visiting artists and career professional presentations and other creative ways to introduce, engage and nurture the students’ interest in careers in the arts. The Art League’s Pre-College program instructor is highly motivated, dedicated to the arts and realizes the benefits of influencing young emerging artists.

Requirements:
BFA, MFA preferred
Recent 5+ years visual art teaching experience, college level a plus
Ability to work with multiple mediums 2D & 3D
Strong leadership, communication skills
Prepared and organized
Network of contacts with private and public schools a plus

The Art League of Long Island has a part time opportunity available to work in the administration office. General responsibilities will include registering students in art classes, mailing brochures and catalogs, answering phones, assisting with office projects, answering phones, interacting with students and faculty, giving art studio tours to prospective students.
