Art League of Long Island Pre-College Portfolio Program Instructor
Summer Intensive 2020
July 6, 2020 - July 31, 2020

The Art League of Long Island is looking for a dynamic, experienced art instructor for its 2020 Pre-College Portfolio Program for High School teens. The right candidate will be a self-starter who takes ownership of the program as early as 4 to 5 months prior to the start of the program. He/she will be involved in the marketing to targeted groups, pre-program planning and promotion, curriculum development, open house events and be an advocate for the program.

The instructor will have broad based current knowledge of portfolio requirements at art colleges and universities. The Pre-College program will provide students with a college level experience in studio art that exceeds the limits of regular High School art and design classes. The instructor will plan for visiting artists and career professional presentations and other creative ways to introduce, engage and nurture the students’ interest in careers in the arts. The Art League’s Pre-College program instructor is highly motivated, dedicated to the arts and realizes the benefits of influencing young emerging artists. Requirements:
BFA, MFA preferred
Recent 5+ years visual art teaching experience, college level a plus
Ability to work with multiple mediums 2D & 3D
Strong leadership, communication skills
Prepared and organized
Network of contacts with private and public schools a plus

Pre-College Portfolio Development Instructor

The Art League is looking for the right Pre-College Portfolio Development Instructor to teach and guide High School students as they prepare their art portfolios for college. The term runs from September through May.
Candidates must have:
• 4-5 years teaching experience in a High School or College environment.

• A full understanding of college portfolio requirements.

• A proven success record in helping students get accepted into respected colleges.

• A BFA in the Arts.

Graphic Design Instructor

The Art League of Long Island has an opening for a Graphic Design instructor to teach Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to beginner and advanced level students. Candidates must be well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite and have a minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience. Preference is given to those with BFA’s and MFA’s in the arts.

Adobe Animate Digital Arts Instructor for Teen Classes

The Art League of Long Island has an opening for a Digital Arts instructor to teach Adobe Animate to Teens ages 11 to 15. Candidates must be well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite and have a minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience working with children and teens. Preference is given to those with BFA’s and MFA’s in the arts.

Multi-Media Visual Arts Instructor for Teen Classes

The Art League has an opening for a Visual Arts instructor to teach Teens ages 13 to 17 a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking.

Candidates must have:

• Minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience.

• The ability to think outside the box.

• Have experience in a variety of artistic mediums and styles.

The Art League of Long Island is looking for a drawing instructor with a minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience who can teach students from beginner level to advanced levels in its weekend classes.
