The Art League asks photographers to explore the patterns and rhythms of the world around them. Rhythm is the repeated use of a shape, color, or other element or design in the images captured which help to unify the different parts into a whole. Patterns are groups of elements or motifs that repeat in a predictable manner. Elements can create rhythm and a sense of movement, which can be random or regular. You may find such elements in ocean waves, planted fields, the grain of wood, or windows of a building. Find the patterns and rhythms in the world around us, either natural or man-made.
