Class Subject: Ceramics

“Simplicity and quiet grace are often overlooked.”
I've been a ceramic artist for over 40 years. I have a studio and showroom in Sag Harbor, NY. My studio is a working studio where I create my pottery and work with a small group of committed clay artists. I am one of the founders of the Clay Art Guild of the Hamptons and teacher at the new Clay Art Studios in Water Mill, NY.

I work almost exclusively in porcelain created on the potter's wheel. I strive for simple shapes which serve as a canvas for carefully reproduced ancient glazes. I've also worked in wood fired, salt glazed porcelain & stoneware and I recently built a gas fired soda kiln. I'm currently exploring sanded surfaces using local sand from our beaches as well as sands from my travels. Custom orders are available.
