This lecture will examine the life of Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, including her health struggles, political views and her complicated marriage to muralist Diego Rivera, as well as an in depth look at her painting style and introspective subject matter. Inspired by the highly anticipated exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, “Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving”, on view through May 12, 2019.
