David O. Miller Profile PhotoArtist, Illustrator, Cartoonist and Graphic Designer David O. Miller wasborn in Ashland, Kentucky in 1958. In 1981 he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky with minors in both filmmaking and philosophy.

After graduation, David worked as a graphic designer for various companies in Louisville, Kentucky, including a CBS television station and a major advertising agency. In 1987 David took a job as Art Director for the U.S. Space and Rocket Center/U.S. Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. "I was a child during the race to the moon and because of that my heroes were all astronauts. The job at the Space Center was an amazing time for me. I was very fortunate to meet and work with several of my heroes. It really was a dream job."

Not long after moving to Huntsville David's efforts to find freelance illustration assignments started to pay off. Most of his assignments during this time were for various book, toy and game companies such as TSR (the makers of Dungeons and Dragons) and Wizards of the Coast. David also freelanced for Baen Books, DoubleDay Book Clubs, Playmore Publishing and Topps trading cards.

David left the Space and Rocket Center in February 1991 to go freelance full-time. It was at this time he met his future wife at an art show in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He relocated to Long Island to be closer to her and they were married in 1993.

David currently teaches computer courses at the Art League. His classes include Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and digital painting. Besides teaching David does freelance artwork for several corporations and publishers.

An admitted "geek" David has a love of old science fiction and horror books and films, as well as games based on those genres.
